BOT F107– Evolution: The Great Debate – A first-year student seminar on the topics of evolution, creationism, and intelligent design. Readings are assigned from each of the three areas, and students write papers on the readings and discuss them in class. One goal of the class is to develop critical thinking skills in the students.

BOT 204 - Evolution of Plant Biodiversity: Genes to Biosphere. This is one of two sophomore level foundation courses for Botany majors, minors and many thematic sequences.

BOT 499A / 599A - Tropical Flora of the Bahamas. A two week field experience on San Salavdor, Bahamas. The focus of which is to introduce students to tropical flora from taxonomic, ecological and evolutionary perspectives.

BOT 621 - Advanced Plant Taxonomy. A graduate class covering principles of classification, botanical nomenclature, taxonomic history, modern classification systems and a large sampling of plant families. The course is entirely Angiosperm oriented.

LABS - Leadership Alliance in Biological Science. A NSF funded project for in-service Junior High and High School teachers. Designed to integrate conservation, biology, technology, and inquiry into the classroom.
