Professor Gabaccia is a preeminent authority
on migration and ethnicity. She is the
author of several studies dealing with
these topics, including From the Other
Side: Women, Gender and Immigrant life
in the U.S., 1880-1990, From
Sicily to Elizabeth Street: Housing and
Social Change among Italian Immigrants,
and We Are What We Eat: Ethnic Food
and the Making of Ethnic Identity in the
U.S. In addition, she has so-edited
several volumes on immigration and multiculturalism
in the U.S. and other countries.
