Dr. Partridge’s professional work has been in multilateral development agencies (World Bank and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), the private sector (Harza Engineering Company International) and academic research institutions (University of Southern California, Georgia State University, SUNY-Binghamton, American University, George Washington University and Vanderbilt University). In each of these arenas community development projects, at the policy as well as design and implementation levels, have remained the professional focus of his work. He leads the "International Leadership and Development" track for Human and Organizational Development majors at Vanderbilt University in an effort to broaden students' horizons toward careers at home and abroad in development, and direct graduate research projects with intercultural and international content and objectives. He is considered the foremost U.S. expert on Colombia’s internally displaced population.
