Miami University is
pleased to announce the receipt of significant funding from
the National Science Foundation (over $1.3M) to provide
fellowships for graduate students in chemistry education
research. The Chemistry Education Research Doctoral
Fellows Program will provide each Fellow with the following
for 5 years:
$30,000 annual stipend
tuition, fees & health insurance
laptop computer
travel to 2 conferences/year
Fellows will earn a Ph.D. in the
Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. The CER Doctoral
Fellows Program provides unparalleled research and mentoring
opportunities. Fellows will partner with both university
chemistry faculty and K-12 teachers to design curricula and
investigate the processes of teaching and learning
chemistry. Significant networking opportunities
include arranged meetings with
professional society directors &
officers
funding agencies' program directors
editors of key journals in CER
as well as a conference to be
held during summers 2009 and 2011 for graduate students in
CER across the U.S. to share their research. Career
training and professional development opportunities, as well
as travel support will be provided.
