| Leadership
and Service |
- The
Office of Community Engagement and Service
provides numerous opportunities to participate
in community service and learn from the experience.
- Miami's
Leadership Commitment is a comprehensive
program to develop students' full leadership
potential, drawing on activities and organizations
from throughout the University.
- The
Scholar Leader Program enables upper-class
students the opportunity to live in an historic
residence hall in the heart of campus and participate
in a series of leadership development opportunities.

| Undergraduate
Research |
- The Undergraduate
Summer Scholars Program allows students
to work with a faculty member on a research
project during the summer. Students receive
both a stipend and credit hours for their
work.
- The Dean's
Scholar Program offers a stipend for
students in the College of Arts and Science
who are working on research projects.
- The Office for Advancement in Scholarship
and Teaching provides Undergraduate
Research Awards to help off set the
cost of undergraduate research and Undergraduate
Presentation Awards to
assist students with the cost of traveling
to and presenting their work at conferences.
- The
Stars Program targets academically
talented Black, Hispanic, and Native American
undergraduates and gets them to graduate
school. Includes one-on-one faculty mentoring,
"hands-on" research experiences,
research assistantship awards, campus
visits, and student conferences. For more

- The
McNair Scholarship assists outstanding,
first-generation college students to engage
in research and prepare for graduate study.
