INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

The International Studies Program (ITS) offers a multidisciplinary major covering history, economics/business, geography, and political science as well as language and area studies. The distinctive nature of our program is based on the language requirement (3-4 years) as well as the integrative nature of the coursework. As the world's issues are large and complex, we use a variety of disciplines and perspectives to address these issues. Many of our students have double majors and minors. All study abroad.

Our graduates go on to work in public service (government, non-profit agencies),  international business (marketing, tourism, finance), education, academia and many other areas. Our graduates succeed in graduate school and many work overseas.

The major in International Studies strives to give students a solid liberal arts background in conjunction with an international emphasis and foreign language skills. More than one-third of ITS students go on to law, business, or graduate programs within five years of receiving their baccalaureate degree.

Contact ITS for further information about current events and activities. We have a number of magazines, journals, and books about study abroad, international careers and internships. Visit Dr. Hey for access to these materials or to talk about majoring in International Studies.
