Karl E. Limper Geology Museum

Since 1968, the Karl E. Limper Geology Museum (named in honor of Professor Karl E. Limper) has been serving the Miami community, area high schools, and local geologists--both amateur and professional.

Today, the museum continues to develop into a center for engaging visitors in understanding the dynamic world in which we live. We encourage you to visit the museum on the campus of Miami University. Before you visit, however, you may wish to get a glimpse of this growing museum. Please begin your explorations by taking our online tour.

What's new at the Karl E. Limper Geology Museum

Come check out the Ramsay Gemstone collection, in our new gemstones exhibit. The wonderful gemstones in this collection were donated in 2002 by Curtis Ramsay, a 1978 Miami alumnus. Approximately 80 gemstones are on display, and these and the other gems in the collection will be used by Miami University students to make jewelry in classes offered by the School of Fine Arts.

Stop in and see our new Meteorite and Ohio Minerals exhibits! Our new trilobite exhibit is also coming soon.
