The Department of Microbiology is housed in the Pearson Hall on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a city with a population of about 8,500 (excluding students). It is located in southwestern Ohio, 35 miles northwest of Cincinnati and 45 miles south of Dayton. The University was established in 1809 and is the second oldest institution of higher learning in Ohio.
