Recognized
The Department of Microbiology was recently recognized for its outstanding contributions to the Miami Plan and the intellectual climate of the University. At the August 2002, Faculty Assembly, Provost Ronald Crutcher presented the chair, Anne Morris Hooke, with a check for $20,000. The Department of Economics was also recognized; these special Provost's Awards are made on the basis of Program Reviews over the past two years. A task force has been appointed to identify the most appropriate use for the money.
