The 2007 Senior Prizes in Microbiology, will be awarded to two seniors giving the best presentations of their laboratory or library research (one prize in each category) at a departmental Undergraduate Poster Presentation. The time and place of the poster presentation will be scheduled during the final week of classes.
Each prize consists of a certificate and a check for $100. Poster presentations should be no more than 10-12 minutes each, and will be followed by questions for 3-5 minutes. The students will be judged by several criteria including originality of research, organization and manner of presentation, and ability to respond to questions.
All seniors — microbiology majors doing independent research in the Microbiology Department — are eligible to compete, including those who will not graduate until December.
