Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to The Graduate School at Miami University are:
- Students must have an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. Students beginning Molecular Biology Studies are expected to possess a degree in a discipline which is appropriate for the study of molecular biology as well as one which will allow them to meet the individual admission requirements of their major department
- An undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 (on a 4.00 scale), except in special circumstances where Conditional Standing may be granted (please see the Miami University Bulletin, Graduate Edition, for full details)
- International students whose degrees are earned outside the United States must also submit a recent TOEFL score
The above requirements are minimal. The various departments supporting Molecular Biology Studies have individual requirements which are described in full detail in the Miami University Bulletin, Graduate Edition. Admission is competitive and based on the evaluation of each candidate's credentials by the student's chosen Department of Major.
