The Older American’s Act

 

The Older Americans Act created the Administration on Aging (AoA) (1) within the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare (now Dept. of Health and Human Services). It was the first federal agency to focus solely on the special concerns of older Americans, promoting their well-being through a range of programs such as nutrition, housing, health care, home-services, employment, counseling and other types of information and referral.
