 GETTING INVOLVED WITH OMA

OMA Volunteer

Volunteers need to complete the first OMA training module—"Introduction to OMA"—which covers the basics of dementia, OMA's philosophy and methodology, and effective communication and facilitation skills.

OMA Facilitator

Teams of practicing artists and staff members of aging services providers can receive OMA certification by attending two training modules below and completing a supervised practicum:

  1. Introduction to OMA.
  2. Designing, implementing, and evaluating visual arts activities for people with dementia using OMA methodology

These modules can be obtained in two different formats: The apprentice format and the on-site intensive format
