Pre-Law Programs at Miami University

Welcome! If you want to be a lawyer, you're starting in the right place. Our programs expose, educate, and advise our students about law school and legal practice.

Students receive focused guidance and counseling on:

  • undergraduate coursework
  • law school options
  • law school admissions

... and opportunities to learn from and network with professionals, such as:

  • mentoring
  • internships
  • Law Day Fair
  • seminars and workshops
  • speaker series

Our Pre-Law Center provides:

  • a resource library
  • computers for students to research and apply to law schools
  • a place to discuss legal issues, hold group-study sessions, or just hang out

[Learn more about these Miami advantages for students.]

The success of our programs can be seen in the accomplishments of our students:

78% of all Miami applicants to law schools for the 2007-08 school year were accepted (compared to a 66% national average)

89% of senior Miami applicants to law schools for the 2007-08 school year were accepted (compared to a 75% national average)

In recent years, Miami students have been accepted to top law schools including those at Harvard, Columbia, New York University, University of Chicago, Pennsylvania, and California-Berkeley. Miami remains an important feeder school for top Ohio law schools.
