Pre-Law Programs at Miami University
About Us
Meet the Director
I am delighted to be the first Director of Pre-Law Programs at Miami University. A licensed attorney, former law school admissions committee representative, and Miami alumna, I am very excited about the opportunity to return to Miami to serve its students by preparing them for law school and the practice of law.
I graduated from Miami with a BA in Political Science and a BS in Mass Communications, with a minor in Business Legal Studies. After working for a year in marketing and consumer promotions, I attended law school at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. While there, I served as a member of the admissions committee and as the co-chair for the Student Legal Education Committee.
Before my return to Miami, I worked as an attorney at 2 large law firms, practicing in labor and employment law, as well as first amendment, media and advertising law.

Pre-Law Center
The Pre-Law Center, located in 159 Upham Hall, serves as a place for all things pre-law. In addition to housing the program's administrative offices, it provides a resource library that students may use to reference topics such as law school admissions, different areas of legal practice, how to transition from college to law school, and insight into the law school experience.
Computers are available for students to research and apply to law schools. The center is also a great place for students to gather to discuss legal issues or study in groups for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).

Alumni Advisory Board
The Pre-Law Alumni Advisory Board (PLAAB) is a group of Miami University alumni who advise and support the efforts of Pre-Law Programs. The Board represents many different career fields, including practicing attorneys, judges, corporate counsel, solo practitioners, government attorneys, academics, and law students. The Board also reflects a diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences.
Student Advisory Committee
The Pre-Law Student Advisory Committee (PL-SAC) is a group of students who advise and assist the Pre-Law Programs Office in every area of its development. Student representatives vary in experience, disciplines, activities, backgrounds and perspectives. Student representatives work together to evaluate and provide recommendations on programs, but also assist in increasing student awareness and participation in Pre-Law Programs opportunities.
Mission Statement
Miami's Pre-Law Programs provide students with the tools necessary to excel both in law school and in the legal arena.
