Advising
Ms. Yvette Simpson, Esq., the Director and Chief Advisor, provides information about the law school admissions process, including tailored and focused advice about the different law school options available to each student, consider alternative careers or graduate school options within their major. Departmental Liaisons serve as the initial point of contact for pre-law students within their major.
Students can also seek advice from the college's Academic Advising Center.
Opportunities
Students have many opportunities to learn from and network with legal professionals, as well as with fellow students:
- Workshops
- Several workshops are offered throughout the year on various topics of interest to pre-law students.
- Mentoring
- Miami students will be paired with alumni mentors who are current law students or lawyers. These mentors will provide guidance for students on how to succeed in the law school environment and what it takes to be a successful lawyer.
- Shadowing Program
- Miami students gain first-hand knowledge about the work that real lawyers do every day — through our Shadowing Program.
- Law Day Fair
- Pre-Law Programs, in collaboration with the Amicus Curiae Pre-Law Society, conducts an annual law day fair. Representatives from law schools from across the country come to Miami to provide pre-law students with information about their respective law schools, and to answer questions for students about the law school admissions process, and about law school in general.

- The Pre-Law Center (159 Upham Hall) serves as a place for all things pre-law.
