The following are guidelines relative
to participation in the 750 seminar.
-
I . The structure of the discussion will be
based on "Focus Research Articles".
-
II. Every participant is expected to be a
"presenter" at least twice during the term.
-
III. Each week, a participant in the seminar
will agree to be the "presenter" of the "Focus Research Article" of that
week.
-
IV. The responsibilities and obligations of
the "presenter" will be as follows:
-
1. The presenter of the week will begin the
seminar with a presentation of a summary of the major points of the "Focus
Research Article".
-
2. The presenter will then provide their best
assessment of the validity of the major conclusions made by the author(s)
of the "Focus Research Article". NB.: A position MUST be taken by
the presenter on the "Focus Research Article" of the week.
-
3. Once the presenter has taken a position
on the "Focus Research Article", the other participants are expected to
discuss whether they agree or disagree with that position. The presenter
will be responsible for moderating the ensuing discussion on the "Focus
Research Article".
-
4. At the end of the discussion, the presenter
will summarize the major points and conclusions that have emerged during
the seminar.
-
V. All participants are expected to have read
the current "Focus Research Article" and be prepared to participate fully
in the discussion that will pertain to that "Focus Research Article" in
every seminar.
