Computer Labs
The College of Arts and Science operates 2 open use/teaching computer labs for the use of students, faculty, and staff. The Walter Havighurst Classroom of the Future, (264 Bachelor Hall) is available for instructor and class use upon request. The second computer lab (167 Upham Hall) can also be requested for class use and is well suited for hands-on work.
The Interactive Language Resource Center (60 Irvin Hall) provides students with the equipment and materials needed to complete their foreign language course requirements.
There are several other computer labs available on the Oxford and regional campuses.
Walter Havighurst Classroom of the Future (264 Bachelor Hall)
The Walter Havighurst Classroom of the Future contains 14 17-inch iMac Core Duo (Mac OSX 10.4) systems and 16 Dell Optiplex (Windows XP) systems with accompanying 17-inch monitors. There is also one additional computer from each platform located in the front of the room for instructional use.
Although the Havighurst Lab is available for intructor and class use upon request, please note that classes from English, Speech and Hearing, Communications, and Journalism take precedence in all cases. The lab is not considered "open" when classes are being conducted there. The week's class schedule is posted on the lab door. The lab is available for weekend use by faculty only upon request.
Please note that the Havighurst Lab participates in the Pay for Print system; the cost is 10¢ per page.

The Havighurst Lab is located in 260 Bachelor Hall (southwest wing of the building). It is open from 8 am to 11 pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 8 am to 5 pm on Friday. It is not open during the weekend. The phone is 529-4516.

Upham Hall Computer Lab (167 Upham Hall)
The computer lab in 167 Upham Hall has 12 Dell Optiplex GX 270 (Windows XP) systems and 8 Power Mac G5 Macintosh (Max OSX 10.4) systems. This lab can be requested for class use and is well suited for hands-on work. Additionally, there is space in the room for group work, with an oval table and chairs.
Please note that this Upham Hall computer lab participates in the Uniprint par for printing program; the cost is 10¢ per sheet. There is a Vendacard dispenser located in the lab for purchasing new cards as well as adding credit to existing ones.
