Older Americans Act Allocations to the States

 

Funding for these various titles is, as mentioned earlier, allotted to states mainly on the basis of age 60-and-older populations. The states, in turn, make adjustments in funding their respective area agencies (1) in accordance with regional variations in poverty levels and population distribution. Rural populations, for example, are often widely dispersed and require more resources to serve than the more condensed populations of urban and suburban areas. (read more…)
